A Midas Productions case study
“From the start Dave and the team have always proven to be most informative and helpful in specifying the size of unit needed and in providing reliable technical back up when necessary.”
– Peter Bingham, Director of Operations
Client background
The Royal Central School of Speech & Drama, based in Central London, offers a full range of degrees in acting, applied theatre, and associated stage management professions, such as scenography, sound design, and theatre crafts.
Issues
Central’s location suffered from insufficient on-grid power supply when operating both their venues simultaneously, and therefore required a professional generator to power studio productions that would be both reliable and environmentally-friendly.
Green Solution Outcomes
- Midas took time to understand CSSD’s particular requirements and values;
- Advised CSSD on the most cost-effective solution;
- Following the success of transportable generators, Midas installed a permanent generator on-site;
- Midas continues to provide support and maintenance for CSSD, whilst students receive training in generator-powered productions.
“The School has won a Green Gown award from the Environmental Association of Universities & Colleges, specifically for our work on making theatrical production work ‘greener’, so we are always looking for ways to improve our environmental credentials and reduce our carbon footprint.”
– Peter Bingham, Director of Operations
