Since 2010, the UK has been exceeding limits on nitrogen dioxide pollution limits, meaning the UK government could be facing EU fines of £300m per annum.
London, Leeds, and Birmingham are the big problems at present, and with the European Court of Justice set to make a decision on the case by the end of 2014, this is a very pressing matter for the UK.
Diesel engines are in the spotlight – they are one of the main contributors of nitrogen dioxide which is seen as a driver of air pollution.
