There are two grants available for “greening” your business and for promoting “green” products or services. These grants are for SMEs based in the South East of England (except London). We ourselves are looking at how we can make the most use of them. Our boiler project would have qualified for the grants if we had known about them before paying for the equipment. So it pays to be informed!
Grant 1 – Low Carbon Workspaces
The ‘Low Carbon Workspaces’ scheme help SMEs to reduce energy usage by offering a match-funded grant of £5,000.
The scheme is geared towards the cost of energy-efficient equipment such as:
- LED lighting
- Energy efficient boilers
- Cavity wall insulation
- Double glazing
- Wood burning stoves… etc
The minimum project spend is £2,600, for which you can receive £1,000 grant if your project qualifies. To claim the full £5,000, the project cost must be £13,000 or more.
The application process is easy. You just need to go to the Low Carbon Workspaces website, fill in the calculator and they will send you an application form. There have only a limited number of grants and they are running out, so now is the time to get in touch if you’d like one.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss your project then please e-mail them at firstname.lastname@example.org or call them on 01494569060.
